Curriculum & Admission

Pebbles: A Faith-based Early Childhood Curriculum

Pebbles:  A Faith-based Early Childhood Curriculum is the officially adopted curriculum for the Southern Union Conference Early Childhood Education birth through pre-kindergarten.
The Pebbles Curriculum is designed and was created to meet the goals and developmental performance standards for philosophy and objectives of Seventh-day Adventist Christian Education.
This curriculum has been built on the 4MAT for ECE platform and requires training in the natural cycle of learning prior to implementation to ensure that all children’s learning styles will be honored.

It is available for use in all Southern Union Conference Early Childhood Programs of birth through pre-kindergarten and schools with prekindergarten classrooms.
It is to be used in both stand-alone and PreK-K combination classrooms as it has been aligned with the NAD’s Kindergarten Curriculum-Stepping Stones.

Computers

Instruction is at two levels. Younger children begin with the basics of computer literacy as they learn to manipulate the mouse, operate the keyboard, use the menus, and access their favorite software. Imagination runs high with colorful, exploratory pre-reading software that develops motor skills and learning basics, such as memory, colors, numbers, shapes and letters. Older children concentrate more on how to make the computer work for them, using the software which fosters creativity, pre-reading, reading, writing, categorization and quantitive skills.

Spanish

Your child will be taught basic Spanish by a native-speaking, fully-qualified Spanish Instructor. Your child will learn: greetings and salutations, Bible songs, colors, numbers, days of the week, months of the year, seasons, shapes, animals, community helpers and basic food groups-all in Spanish.
